About National TB elimination program (NTEP):

 

VISION: TB-Free India with zero deaths, disease and poverty due to tuberculosis

GOAL: To achieve a rapid decline in burden of TB, morbidity and mortality while working towards elimination of TB in India by 2025.

Target of NTEP: The Government of India has committed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) target of ending TB by 2025 five years ahead of the global target. This means that by 2025, India must achieve the 2030 SDG targets of 80% reduction in TB incidence & 90% reduction in TB deaths compared to the 2015 baseline.

Each TB patient, whether in the public or private sector, notified will be supported by C4TEF in registering online at the Nikshay platform with Bank A/C and Aadhaar details.

C4TEF will provide food packets for the nutrition enhancement of patients with Tuberculosis.

The Nikshay Poshan Yojana is a government scheme in India that was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April 2018 with the aim of helping tuberculosis patients.

The scheme is registered under Direct Benefit Transfer and works towards the betterment of patients with Tuberculosis (TB) by providing them with ₹500 per month for each notified TB patient for the duration of their anti-TB treatment.

Nikshay Mitras can be individuals, NGOs, co-operative societies, faith-based organizations, political parties, and others.

A Mitra can adopt a minimum of one consented TB patient undergoing treatment for at least six months and provide any kind of support.

Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ to eliminate TB by 2025.

Capacity Building of Panchayati Raj

C4TEF will build the capacity of Panchayati Raj Institutions in villages with high Tuberculosis burden districts.

Gram Panchayats play a pivotal role in governance, planning, and implementation of schemes to ensure socio-economic and human development in the villages they govern.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR) and the Central TB Division, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, to establish ministerial collaboration and strategic partnerships with the aim of achieving the Prime Minister’s ambitious target of eliminating TB in India by 2025.
